Advocating for the Informal Economy

In May 2023, our team focused on the struggles faced by unorganized workers in the Indian informal economy. Highlighting their lack of social security benefits such as pensions, gratuity, workmen's compensation, and employee state insurance, this project draws attention to the need for policy reforms. We discussed the significance of the Factories Act of 1948 and the Industrial Disputes Act of 1949 in protecting worker rights. Through this initiative, we aim to raise awareness and advocate for the inclusion and protection of informal workers in the Indian economy.
