Period Poverty: causes & effects

Heart2Heart organization highlighted the issue of period poverty in a post aimed at raising awareness & combatting this pervasive global problem. It affects an estimated 1.7 billion women worldwide, depriving them of adequate access to sanitary products & proper menstrual hygiene management. This lack of resources not only poses significant physical health risks but also increases the likelihood of reproductive infections. In India alone, approximately 23 million girls drop out of school annually due to inadequate menstrual hygiene facilities, underscoring the urgent need for improved access and education in this critical area.
