Sexism in cultures

On the occasion of Women’s Day Heart2Heart organization posted a post on sexist cultures which provides us insight into the prevalent sexism in different cultures. Sexism refers to prejudice, stereotyping, or discrimination, typically against women, based on sex. It revolves around the idea that one sex is superior to another. Such stereotypes are unknowingly deeply rooted in our society, traditions, and culture & this makes it hard to notice sexism. The post delves into how phrases like "Boys will be boys" & "Girls are so dramatic" reflect & perpetuate these harmful stereotypes, often used casually. Such remarks & objectification contribute to a culture of sexism. While sexism may manifest differently across cultures, its underlying issues remain consistent at the grassroots level. Addressing these issues is crucial to raising awareness & fostering change within our society, thereby preventing future generations from perpetuating the same biases.
